More than four decades into my journalism career, I'm managing a station for the first time. Please note that I am not accepting freelance commissions at this time. It's a joy to work alongside the hardworking and talented staff and producers at KRVS Radio Acadie. The music-driven NPR affiliate, based in Lafayette, serves Southwest Louisiana, home of Zydeco and Cajun music and a rich, grounded, French-inflected culture in my parents' ancestral state. In addition to regional music it offers jazz, classical, rock, roots, and folk — all of which I treasure in addition to the Great American Songbook.
As my literary lodestar Lorraine Hansberry wrote, "the world concerns me." Education and life have taken me to South Africa, Cuba, Japan, Vietnam, China, France, England, Canada, Sweden, Venezuela, Mexico and all over the United States. Thanks for stopping by!
